If you're a parent, you know that little things can make your day when you have a newborn baby... like sneaking in a one hour nap while baby sleeps... or taking a nice hot shower... or sometimes something as simple as being able to go to the bathroom seems like a feat! I will be an aunt for the first time this coming February! This would be the perfect gift for my sister! My favorite toy growing up was my cabbage patch doll named Corney. Her name was originally Cornelia but my mom tells me I was not a fan and shortened it several times before settling with Corney!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun give-away -- especially enticing for a really soon-to-be-mommy, like me. (any day now!) I know my little gal is going to love being read to, though I have no clue what her favorite will be -- yet! ;-) My favorite book when I was young was "Goodnight, Moon". My mom said I had it memorized by the time I was 1 & a half & would "read" it to her instead of the other way around! :-) One of my favorites now that I'm grown is called "I'll Love You Forever". It is a sweet story as well!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's favorite toy is her set of links. They've kept her occupied for doctor and dentist appointments, kept her toys attached to her stroller (very convenient when in the "drop so mommy will pick it up" stage), and offered lots of conversation pieces about colors. We love links! She also really likes any Sandra Boynton book (who doesn't?!?!).
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter (2) loves her toy kitchen. She "cooks" for me all the time and it is absolutely adorable. Her favorite book is a pop-up book about the universe. It's really cute.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Moon hands down!
ReplyDeleteWow, this would be a wonderful gift for my sister! My favorite book when I was little was Tikki Tikki Tembo because I loved how my mom would sing-song the very long name in the story. On a related note (because I saw it at our local library) the short film The Red Balloon was also a favorite as a small child. :-)

my daughters favorite toy is a pink bear lovey. She drags it everywhere, and it looks horrible, especially after being washed so many times. She has 2 others similar to it, but when it's crunch time it HAS to be that specific one or it's not good!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to be a brand new aunt this coming spring. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law would love the basket, I'm sure. My favorite book as a child was The Twelve Dancing Princesses. If only I could find as nice a copy now as what we had then!
ReplyDeleteI think Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? is definitely a favorite of both of my kids. The favorite toy right now is a set of foam blocks that look like real wood, but are squishy enough to not hurt when they get stepped on or thrown.

Oh my gosh! My niece is having a baby and how wonderful would this be!!! My son's favorite toys were anything Thomas the train. He would play with them for hours! My daughter loved her stuffed animals and babies! crazybulldogs@comcast.net

ReplyDeleteI am a first time mom of a 1 month old boy. So far he loves the book Who Do You Love?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be an aunty around thanksgiving time. I'm so excited! But my favorite book was Shel Silverstein's The Missing Piece and favorite toy was this playskool vacuum. I'm well aware how odd it was to have a vacuum as a favorite toy, haha
